Let me Explain.
The word luxury means the state of great comfort and extravagant living according to google's dictionary. Great comfort and extravagant living can also be done in a healthy non-toxic environment. A luxury candle experience can take you on a whole new level of candle appreciation when you have the right ingredients. You will know exactly what is in your candle, the process it took to make your candle, and typically who made it. When you light one of our luxury candles, you will be immediately immersed in a sensory euphoria of sophisticated notes so divine, your brain may start to tingle. The Ugly Truth of the Popular Ordinary Candle
You can walk into any store today and typically find a candle on a shelf somewhere in that store. Hell, you can walk into a gas station and pick up a candle if you wanted to. But do you really know what is in that candle? Let me break it down for you.
"If it smells good, that's all that matters."
The typical phrase I hear when talking to a person about luxury candles. Yep, the eye roll just happened. Ordinary inexpensive candles involve cheap ingredients typically sourced by harmful harvesting methods wrecking havoc on our rainforests, synthetic fragrance full of carcinogens and neurotoxins, plus toxin coated cotton wicks that mushroom with flames so high you should be nervous to leave the room. The most common of these ordinary candles will have either a paraffin wax or a soy wax. These 2 waxes are actually harmful and the amount of chemicals used to turn these ingredients into candle wax is just not good.
Full paraffin candles release undesired chemicals such as alkanes, alkenes, and toluene, all of which are toxic to humans. Inhaling these compounds over a long period can increase the risk of developing chronic conditions such as common allergies, asthma, and even certain types of cancer. Some candle makers claim soy wax is natural. Soy wax is not natural. The soy plant is. The wax comes from soybean oil which mostly contain non natural additives such as many forms of pesticides to keep bugs away from destroying crops. The number 1 reason Luxe Intuition chose to not use a soy wax is due to the huge deforestation still going on. The Wax-The Creme De La Creme
In order for us to consider our candle line luxury, we knew the wax had to match. There are so many high end candles out there and the wax isn't matching the name. It's quite deceiving. Coconut Apricot Wax is our wax of choice. We chose this wax not only because of how it is sourced but because it is a sustainable clean burning wax with a superior scent throw. Coconut wax is a renewable resource that uses no pesticides or fertilizers to grow. A huge win with us! Coconut wax will provide the slowest burn giving you up to 50% more burn time than ordinary candles and will not release any toxins into the air when lit. That's right. No smoke. Smoke from ordinary candles has been linked to migraines and asthma.
The Scent-Sophisticated, Unique, and Complex
Luxury fragrance oils require a complexity to them and a uniqueness that will keep you wanting more. Curated by master perfumers they are made with fine fragrance oils and high grade essential oil blends from around the world, not easily accessible to the mass market. Our luxury fragrance oils are also sourced from raw materials to provide a clean non toxic luxury candle experience designed with exotic and well balanced notes projecting a rich, luxurious character. Our luxury scents are all vegan, cruelty-free, phthalate free, carcinogen-free, mutagen-free, and compliant with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) standards. The Wick-Modern Minimalist Aesthetic
Wooden wick candles have a huge space in our hearts due to the warm crackling ambiance mimicking that of sitting by the fireplace in the mountains. Our wooden wicks are sourced from FSC certified mills and made in the U.S.A. They do not come coated with any toxic ingredients and we do not coat them. Wooden wicks are raw and 100% natural and will provide a safe and low flame . Proper wick trimming of 1\8"-3/16" is required in between each burn.
The Packaging-Sustainable
Mother Earth Approved. We pride ourselves in using biodegradable packing peanuts that literally dissolve in water. Try it next time you receive a candle from us. Using eco-friendly packaging offers our planet more luxuries to enjoy. We say no to single use plastics. We are also transitioning to plantable dust covers aka seed paper that is handmade using 100% recycled material. Be on the look out for these in the coming months. In recent research we have found candle lids are typically thrown out causing more unnecessary waste. Plantable dust covers are a beautiful addition to the Luxe Intuition Candle Line that can be planted in soil, watered, and bloom into a garden of wildflowers.
